Ph.D. Openings

There are multiple Ph.D. openings in my group working on the following areas with a focus on carbon footprint reduction and sustainability. Prospective students are expected to be self-motivated and have a background in electromagnetics or power electronics. Successful candidates will receive full financial support including tuition, stipend, and other benefits. If you are interested in joining the group, please send a self-introduction email with C.V. and transcripts to baoyun.ge@ece.ufl.edu.

  • Universal Design Methodology for Electromagnetic and Electrostatic Devices, Novel Electric Machines
  • Systematically Exploring New Power Electronics Circuits
  • High Performance Motor Drive Architecture

Undergraduate Student Research Openings

There are one to two openings in all terms in my group working on electromechanical energy conversion systems. Prospective students are expected to be self-motivated and have a background in at least one of the following

  • electromagnetic analysis (Maxwell equation, finite element analysis, magnetic circuit analysis, etc.)
  • feedback control of dynamic systems (classic control theory, microcontroller programming, etc.)
  • power electronics (circuit analysis, circuit simulation, etc.)

The corresponding preferred skills are

  • experience with COMSOL, JMAG, or ANSYS
  • experience with Matlab/Simulink, TI MCU or FPGA
  • experience with Matlab/Simulink, SPICE, Altium Designer or KiCAD

If you are interested in joining the group, please send a self-introduction email with C.V. and transcripts to baoyun.ge@ece.ufl.edu. You will be paid on an hourly basis once competency is demonstrated in a short period of time. Exceptions can be made if there is a direct match.
